Forme della poesia occasionale e valorizzazione del quotidiano nella lirica della prima metà del Cinquecento

Il contributo propone una riflessione sul concetto di poesia occasionale e sulla rivalorizzazione della dimensione quotidiana e privata nel primo Cinquecento. In questo periodo, marcato dalle guerre d’Italia, gli scrittori sentirono di avere perso un posto nella società e dovettero riaffermare il proprio ruolo, anche sul fronte lirico, pur riconoscendo la necessità dei rapporti col potere e del mecenatismo. Le risposte furono diverse ma accomunate dal radicamento nella tradizione classica, più precisamente nella percezione di una forte analogia con le condizioni degli scrittori dell’età augustea, che parimenti vissero in prima persona il conflitto tra richieste del potere e desiderio di otium e indipendenza. Al fine di spiegare questa situazione, il saggio analizza alcuni testi paradigmatici, riconducibili a tre categorie: i componimenti per la malattia o la guarigione di una persona, i testi funebri, l’applicazione di similitudini epiche a situazioni sentimentali, gesti e dettagli.

Forms of occasional poetry and enhancement of everyday life in the lyrics of the first half of the sixteenth century

This essay proposes a reflection on the concept of occasional poetry and on the revaluation of the daily and private dimension in the early sixteenth century. In this period, marked by the Italian Wars, writers felt they had lost their place in society and had to reaffirm their role, even on the lyrical front, while recognizing the need for relations with power and for patronage. The outcomes were different but they had in common the roots in the classical tradition, more precisely in the perception of a strong analogy with the conditions of the writers of the Augustan period, who also experienced firsthand the conflict between the demands of the powerful and the desire for otium and independence. In order to explain this situation, the essay analyzes some paradigmatic texts, attributable to three categories: the poems composed for the illness or the healing of a person, the funeral texts, the application of epic similarities to sentimental situations, gestures, details.
